The adventure begins. An afternoon touch-down at Cape Town International Airport and your Jaguar Experience Staff will be there to take you to the Grande Roche Hotel in the renowned wine region of Paarl. A beautifully restored Dutch homestead, it’s set in immaculately manicured gardens. Its two outdoor pools, and spa treatments, make it perfect for relaxing before an early evening tour and tasting at the celebrated Laborie Wine Farm.
Later, you’ll get to know your fellow travellers over dinner at Grande Provence, voted The Best Restaurant in Cape Town.
It’s a morning of heart-stopping thrills at the Killarney Motor Racing Circuit. The professional drivers of the Jaguar Experience Team will teach you the skills you need for top performance vehicle handling. After an exciting track morning, take lunch at On the Rocks in Blouberg; featuring incredible views from Robben Island to Table Mountain. In the afternoon there’s more speeding as you meet, and even have the chance to sit on, the fastest land bird in the world, at Cape Town Ostrich Ranch. Dinner at the Grande Roche Hotel’s award-winning restaurant finishes off, perfectly, an exhilarating day.
It’s time to take to the wheel of your Jaguar and, guided by the Jaguar Experience Team, set off across the Western Cape’s magnificent changing terrain; from the bucolic inland vineyards to the rugged coastline. First stop, Franschoek Motor Museum, with its stunning collection of rare vintage cars; including Jaguar’s XK120, the racing D-TYPE and the iconic E-TYPE. Franschoek’s main street provides a perfect shopping opportunity with lunch at Le Quartier Français, headed by Relais Grand Chef Margot Janse - Chef of the Year 2012. The journey to the coast continues through extraordinary landscapes to Hermanus. There’s time to take to the beach before dinner at the striking contemporary restaurant, The Marine.
Take to the waters with a boat cruise along the magnificent Hermanus Coastline. In the colder months, Southern Right whales migrate from Antarctica and South Africa’s waters play host to many of these giant animals, mating, calving and rearing their young. Dolphins, seals and even the endangered Great White Shark favour these seas, giving you every chance to encounter some of the world’s most extraordinary marine life. Back on dry land, enjoy lunch at La Pentola Restaurant before spending time on the creamy white sand beaches, or sight-seeing in town. After another sumptuous meal at The Marine’s award-winning restaurant, it’s time for bed. You’re got driving in the morning.
Press the start button of your luxurious Jaguar; it’s time to head west through the dramatic countryside of the Cape peninsula. Arriving at Muizenberg, you can stroll along the beach by the brightly coloured Victorian beach houses before lunch at the dazzling Casa Labia – a palazzo built in 1929 to reflect the spirit of 18th century Venice and now a national monument. Its famous Italian café features a spectacular veranda overlooking the False Bay seas. Then a drive to Chapman’s Peak one of the most esteemed marine drives in the world with astounding views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Afternoon tea is taken at the Twelve Apostles Hotel before the last drive of the day to the Table Bay Hotel amidst the restaurants and activities of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Soaring to new heights, no visit to South Africa would be complete without a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain. The views from this iconic landmark will take your breath away. Once down again, you’ll be taken to the Groot Constantia Estate, South Africa’s oldest wine estate, for an unforgettable wine tasting experience and a classic South African lunch menu.
To end the day, Jaguar Experience has chartered a sailing yacht for all participants before a final gala dinner at the Table Bay Hotel.
